First things first. I want you to know that you are not broken. You have been doing the best that you can, considering everything you've been through. It's not easy and you are so strong for showing up here today. You may be at a stage where you are ready to shine a light where there has been darkness for so long.
I'll let you in on a secret no one wants you to know. We have all been through wounding to one degree or another. A major misconception of trauma that we get wrong is; It's not about the event that happens TO you, it's about what happens WITHIN you in response to the event. It's about the pain of the disconnection that takes place. In response to this, your brain does a great job at protecting you from ever experiencing that pain again. As a result, you live in survivor mode. This self-protection develops cyclical patterns of behavior that leave you feeling defective, lashing out, always on guard, overthinking, seeking validation, people-pleasing, and hiding your True Self from the world. Over the years, you've gotten so good at getting by this way that now you're not sure who the true you is.
I know because I've been there, and I'm here to help you move through the emotions so that you can reconnect to your true essence. The self that's buried beneath all the social programming. Under all the coping strategies and protection mechanisms that we call our personalities.
I know that you've previously thought that this is just how your mind works and how you'll be for the rest of your life. However, I am here to shine a light on your potential for transformation and acceptance. I have not only experienced the change for myself but I have also had the honor to walk beside clients as they witnessed reconnecting to themselves, letting go of anxiety, moving through deep levels of grief and getting radically honest with themselves, and emerging into new sets of beliefs and behaviors.
May we show gratitude for those old mechanisms that kept us safe up until now but it is time to take back your power and choose a new story. I'm here to hold space for you on this journey.
