About the event
Mindful Chats is a place where people interested in discussing mindfulness, mental health and ideas that better support ourselves and our communities. It is a space where we discuss mindfulness topics that help us learn tools and habits that take care of our minds and bodies. The chats will be open to any topics the group chooses or will be prompted with topics of Yoga Philosophy like The 8 Limbs of Yoga.
Mindfulness is a way of paying attention to whatever is happening in our lives, inside and out, in the present moment. When we connect and observe the present, we start to become aware of habitual patterns of thought, emotion and behaviour that guide us through life. Much of our suffering is a result of regrets about the past, expectatons, worries about the future or judgments about the present. When we are mindful we become aware of and explore these habitual thought patterns and ways of reacting. This attitude of curiosity allows us to create new and healthier ways of responding to life’s challenges.
This event is for those that have a curiosity and love for life, philosophy, personal truth, and for those that are navigating sadness and anxiety looking for community and connection.
The structure of the chats will be:
- Starts with a short grounding exercise
- Discussion on a mindfulness topic
- Ends with short meditation
These chats are following an Embodiment flow yoga class lead by me Jeannette. If you would like to join that begins at 11am.
If you are looking for a mentally stimulating social event this is it! I look forward to sharing space with you.
*This is not a debate club rather a place to safely and openly share different prospectives of life and life experience. Rude or aggressive participants will not be tolerated and those who do not respect the group will be asked to leave.
